“Today we were thinking about, like, what people are called because of where they’re from..you know, like inhabitants of Brisbane, inhabitants of Melbourne or inhabitants of Sydney, because those are all the cities we’ve been in. And um, we were trying to think of Brisbane and we were thinking of like, ‘Brisbaloneons’? ‘Brisbenders’? That just seems like, the perfect kind of like, experience - “I’ve just been on a brisbender!” And then there’s ‘Sydneysiders’, and then I think it’s ‘Melbaloneons’? ‘Melgyptians’? But where I’m from, Michigan, we call ourselves ‘Michiganders’. Seriously, it’s not a joke, ‘Michiganders’. Actually, someone here just pointed out that gander is really plural for a group of geese, it’s a plural term. So when you refer to yourself as a ‘Michigander’, you’re sort of referring to yourself as a plural. And I thought that was really strange, it’s like, I don’t know, it really struck me cos I kept thinking of this idea of me as like…many things.”

Sufjan Stevens | “Futile Devices”
It’s been a long, long time
Since I’ve memorized your face
It’s been four hours now
Since I’ve wandered through your place
Sufjan Stevens with Pania last night. Absolute perfection.
